Summer of 2024

Starting this summer of 2024, a new Vocational Specialist named Sarah Gamlin-Davis will be teaching social skills classes tied with Executive Functioning Skills while I will help co-teach/co-treat periodically. I have an entire executive functioning and social skills curriculum that I will integrate for virtual use.
Due to the amount of social interaction and integrated instruction which are required to operate these small virtual classes, the class times are scheduled at customized times depending on availability of the instructor and students. They are relaxed, interactive, and fun, and not the same type of intensity as Ed. Therapy although a great deal is being taught and learned. For our social skills we will be teaching and learning about Active Listening, Conflict Resolution, Communication, Cooperation, Patience, Using Manners, Following Directions, Time Management, How to Handle Criticism, Self-Awareness, Sharing, Being a Self- Advocate, Answering Questions, Empathy, Respect, Positivity, Nonverbal Communication, Eye Contact, Working with Others, Accepting Compliments, and many more social skills topics. For the integrated Executive Functioning Skills, we will learn about Attention and Focus, Improving Organization, Task Initiation, Planning, Prioritizing, Self-Monitoring, Utilizing a Working Memory, Flexible Thinking, Emotional Self-Management, and Impulse Control Awareness.
We need to price the classes (not Ed. Therapy) as follows at $50/hour for one-to-one, $30/hour for two-to-one, $25/hour for three-to- one, and $20/hour for four-to-one. No class will be over four students, and students can start at any time. Of course you can take off a little without paying for family vacations! As I (Julie) do in my Educational Therapy practice, I ask for a one-month commitment from parents for classes as well which I will periodically co-teach / co-treat with Sarah. We will Federal holidays off. We will try to provide time for makeup sessions as needed with minimal cancelations although sometimes they occur, and families not be charged for those rare days. If you want to schedule smaller one-to-one or two-to-one classes outside of these times, please contact me at 210-459-0641 and/or reach out by email at jnicholsvocationalservices@gmail.com and sgamlinvocationalservices@gmail.com. We look forward to working with your child and family!!
